SSW 113 Helping Skills
3 Credits

This course introduces the student to the helping relationship and the helping skills used by social service workers. The student will identify helping strategies and have an opportunity to learn skills through exercises such as role plays and video/audio helping skill demonstrations. Skills for relationship building, exploring or probing, empowering and challenging will be learned in the context of the planned change process.
