Road Builder Heavy Construction Foundation students are prepared for entry into the Heavy Equipment Operator Technician Apprenticeship program. In this 150-hour program, students learn correct industry terminology, how to identify and classify machines and processes, and general engineering principles related to road building and heavy construction, in addition to approximately 15 hours on HEO simulators.

In this program, students learn correct industry terminology, how to identify and classify machines and processes, and general engineering principles related to road building and heavy construction.
- Module A – Industry Orientation and Overview
- Module B – Tool and Equipment Operation and Maintenance
- Module C – Civil Engineering principles
- Module D – Work Site Preparation
Program certifications
- Occupational First Aid Level 1
- Traffic Control Flagging
- WHMIS
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods
- Grade 12 OR Mature Student
- English Studies 10, English First Peoples 10 or Equivalent AND
- Apprenticeship Workplace Math 10 or Higher OR
- Successful completion of a CAT assessment test
- Permission of Instructor
