Harmonized Plumber Foundations Certificate

Learn and practice the skills needed in the plumbing trade such as installing, repairing and maintaining plumbing fixtures and various water, hydronic, drainage, waste and vent systems. Plumbers install specialized systems such as medical gas, process piping, compressed air, water conditioners, fuel piping, sewage and water treatment, and storage and flow equipment. Additionally, plumbers interpret drawings, refer to layouts of existing services, and review applicable codes and specifications to determine work details and procedures.

In addition to these learning outcomes, CMTN will also help its students be able to:

Four credits of English at a grade 12 level or equivalent AND Foundations of Math 11 or Workplace Mathematics 11 (MWPM-11/WPM 11) or higher.

Career opportunities

Plumbers work in the full range of environmental conditions; from comfortable residential worksites to remote sites where inclement weather can be a factor. Shift work is common. Good physical condition is important because the work often requires considerable standing, bending, crawling, lifting, climbing, pulling and reaching.

Some important attributes of the Plumber Foundation student are:
