WALA 3210 Curriculum Development
3 Credits

The Curriculum Development course introduces participants to various approaches to curriculum development. The course primarily focuses on a learning centred approach to curriculum design. Participants will develop material related to their own teaching and learning contexts that link learning outcomes, delivery of instruction, and evaluation of learning. Consideration will be given to Indigenizing through design, distributed learning, meeting the needs of adult learners, addressing diversity, developing learning centred syllabi and lesson plans, and allyship. This course highlights the importance of Indigenous worldviews and the inclusion of local Indigenous content and perspectives in curricula.

Prerequisites
Participants need to have a recognized level of content expertise and therefore are required to have completed a Diploma, Degree, or Red Seal trades designation prior to entering this course.
