PSYC 203 Sex and Gender
3 Credits

Following a review of methods and theories, learners will explore how sex and gender affect many aspects of our lives such as cognition, language, emotion, work, relationships, and health. In addition, learners will take a historical perspective to examine gender stereotypes, sexism, and discrimination. Other topics include sexual orientation and sexuality, and how sex and gender are linked to aggression and violence. Whenever possible learners will be encouraged to engage in cross-cultural analysis of psychological phenomena through an Indigenous lens.
