HCAS 1091 Experience in Home Support/Assisted Liv

This practice course provides learners with an opportunity to apply knowledge and skills from all other courses with individuals and families in a community setting. Opportunity will be provided for learners to become more familiar with the role of the HCA within a Home Support Agency, Assisted Living Facility and/or a Group Home, and to gain abilities that will prepare graduates for employment in these settings. It is important that learners understand the philosophy of community care settings and importance of client choice and independence.
Prerequisites
Minimum B- in HCAS 1011, HCAS 1021, HCAS 1031, HCAS 1041, HCAS 1051, HCAS 1061, and Credit received for HCAS 1071 and HCAS 1081. Step 2 documentation as listed in the admissions requirements for the program must remain current through the length of the course.
