GEOL 157 Introduction to Northwest Geology

Geology 157 offers an exciting introduction to Earth science through the unique geology and physical landscapes of our own region. Explore how the Earth formed and changed over time, learn to identify rocks, minerals, fossils, and ore deposits, and uncover the volcanic and glacial forces that shaped the dramatic landforms around us. During this hands-on course you will have the opportunity to head outside on multiple field trips to geological sites in Northwest BC, applying what you learn in class to the world beneath your feet. If you are curious about how the Earth works and have a love for the outdoors, then this course is for you.
