GEOG 203
GEOG 203 Geomorphology
3 Credits
This course provides an in-depth look into the dynamic processes that shape Earth's surface and the resulting landforms. Learners will gain a fresh perspective on the landscapes around them, developing an understanding of the various forces sculpting the land. Building on concepts introduced in first year, this second year course covers key principles of geomorphology, focusing on processes that actively shape natural landscapes. A broad overview of Earth's surface processes is provided, with an emphasis on volcanic, glacial, hillslope, and fluvial processes relevant to Northwestern British Columbia. The lab component will be mostly field based and highlight observational and analytical techniques, that cover landform classification, process measurements, slope stability, and terrain analysis.
Prerequisites
