ENGL 040 Advanced English
5 Credits

This Advanced level course is designed to prepare students with the skills necessary to enter Provincial level courses and some vocational, career, and technological programs. Students will write paragraph, essay and report writing assignments using various types of development including exposition and persuasion. Research skills will be developed through gathering and organizing information into a research assignment, avoiding plagiarism, and following conventions of documentation styles. Reading comprehension, critical analysis of fiction and oral communication skills are also covered.
