EDUA 125 Curriculum in the Inclusive Classroom
3 Credits
This course focuses on how curriculum is adapted and modified in order to provide pathways to academic and social success for children and teens in the inclusive classroom. Students will be encouraged to explore a team process for adapting, modifying and implementing K-12 curriculum in the core areas, personal planning and physical education. Students will learn about the types of curriculum adapted, modified and individualized and their implications for students with exceptionalities and challenges. Individualized education planning (IEP) will be defined and examined. Strategies to implement modified or adapted curriculum will be reviewed.
