This is an introductory study of traditional First NationsArt of the Pacific Northwest. The emphasis in on understanding the history of various art symbols and designs, and different approaches to art development. specific topics include an introduction to the art of Freda diesing, understanding basic Northwest Coast formal elements, and examining a broad range of historic and contemporary Northwest Coast art styles and artists.
